Pritzl still waiting for clearance with Badgers

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -

Preseason practice is underway for the Badgers men's basketball team and all Brevin Pritzl can do is watch.

"I'm not even cleared to do any kind of cutting movements yet. I'm just working on straightaway running. It sounds really weird like when you haven't played or ran in a long time, just trying to figure out how to run again is different because I haven't put weight on my foot for two months."

The freshman guard broke his foot in the offseason. He has slowly been working his way back since then. Pritzl says he has some more tests scheduled this week to determine if his foot is fully healed. If so, he is hoping to work his way back into basketball shape in the next couple weeks.

The Badgers had hoped Pritzl could make an impact in his first year. He averaged 25.5 points per game as a senior at De Pere High School. The Badgers have some open minutes at shooting guard opposite of Bronson Koenig.
