Volunteers needed for the 2015 Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign

Posted: Updated:

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Salvation Army of Dane County is gearing up to kick off its 2015 Red Kettle Campaign.

For 125 years, The Salvation Army of Dane County has offered shelter for the homeless, food for the hungry, mentoring and education for at-risk children.

The Christmas Kettle Campaign runs from November 13 to December 24.  Volunteers are needed to help ring at various locations through the holiday season. Event organizers hope to raise $70,000 through the holiday campaign.

The Salvation Army is selling "Season Passes" pins this year, that you can put on your coat so that you are recognized as a donor when you pass by the kettle.

People can also text the word "Dane" to 71777 to make a donation or create their own mobile kettle to help raise funds.
