MADISON, Wis. -- Off to its best start in program history, the Wisconsin women’s hockey team was rewarded with the top ranking in the USCHO.com Division I Women’s Poll on Monday.

The Badgers, who are 10-0-0 for the first time in school history, received eight first-place votes and 143 points to move up from No. 3 in last week’s ranks. Boston College, also 10-0-0, took home seven first-place votes and 139 points to remain at No. 2 while Minnesota dropped to No. 3 after falling to North Dakota last Friday.

Clarkson remained in fourth with 75 points, while North Dakota moved up to fifth after knocking off the Gophers.

Bemidji State, Quinnipiac, Northeastern, Harvard and Princeton round out the top 10 of the rankings.
