Fredrick battling for increased role with Badgers

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -

This wasn't exactly the senior season that Jordan Fredrick envisioned for himself.

"I've gone from starter to three-year vet to playing three plays a game to playing a lot more. It's a wild ride."

The Badgers receiver was a mainstay in the lineup the past couple seasons. However, the former Madison Memorial star found himself buried on the depth chart coming into this season after yet another regime change.

"It's been a humbling experience, but it's helped me too, on and off the field."

Fredrick has only notched six catches this season. However, he has seen an uptick in playing time since the injury to Rob Wheelwright. Fredrick plans to seize upon the opportunity to help the Badgers on the field over the final four games of his collegiate career.

"It's very important. You don't want to come in and be the drop off. You don't want to be a weakness. You want to be a strength. You want to prove why you should have been playing or should be playing no matter who was healthy or who was hurt. So, it's just one of those things...be positive."
