Thursday's Child making wishes come true for seriously ill children and young adults

Posted: Updated:

MT. HOPE (WKOW) --  An organization based in Mt. Hope, Wisconsin is helping to make wishes come true for seriously ill children and young adults all over southwest and south-central Wisconsin.

"Thursday's Child" is an all-volunteer organization that focuses on the entire family. It will grant wishes of a weekend getaway to Door County or a trip to Hawaii. It can provide for celebrity meetings or build playgrounds.

The group also organizes the Santa Project and the Turkey Trot to raise funds to help make those wishes possible. It also has a Jingle Bell 5K Fun Run on Saturday, December 5 at Platteville Middle School. Registration is 8:00 a.m. and the run is at 9:00 a.m. There is also a 1/2 mile Elf Run for those who are 12 and under at 8:30 a.m.
