NEWTON (WKOW) - Cold pack cheese came from humble beginnings in taverns across Wisconsin. It was originally called "club" or "crock" cheese. Tavern owners would grind cheese ends together and offer it as a snack.
Mary Lindemann is the marketing director of Pine River Cold Pack. She says cold pack cheese is not processed; it's a natural cheese in a spreadable form. She says it's also a convenient cheese because it's easy to bring anywhere.
Pink River Cold Pack currently has 17 different flavors with new ones being created as customers demand. The most popular flavor right now is Ghost Pepper.
