UPDATE: Janesville Mall reopened after bomb threat

UPDATE (WKOW) -- Police say the Janesville Mall and its surrounding area are now reopen after a bomb threat on Saturday.

Janesville police say no suspicious devices were found as of 7:20 p.m. The investigation is ongoing after officers were called to the mall around 5:40 p.m. for a bomb threat posted to Facebook.

The mall released the following statement Saturday night: 

"Earlier this evening we received a threat on social media and worked with local authorities to ensure the safety of our shoppers and retailers. This required us to evacuate the mall for a short time to allow local authorities to provide the all clear. Thank you for your patience and understanding. At this time, the mall has received the all clear from the police and is again open for business."


JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- The Janesville Mall is closed as police investigate a bomb threat.

Janesville police say at 5:40 p.m. on Saturday officers were called to the mall after a bomb threat was posted on Facebook. Officers are helping mall employees search the mall right now. 

People are asked to stay away from the mall right now as the case develops.
