MADISON (WKOW) -- A Wisconsin native is coming home.
After spending the past 11 years as an employee of The Cheesecake Factory, opening restaurants all around the world, John Cashman, from Manitowoc, is now in Madison at the new Cheesecake Factory location. He is an award-winning bartender and designated trainer for the restaurant chain.
John joined us on Wake Up Wisconsin Saturday morning to talk about the new restaurant and his experience working all around the world. He says working at the Madison location has been going well, and that they've had a lot of busy nights and big crowds since the grand opening Tuesday.
John also showed us and our viewers how to make The Cheesecake Factory's modern old-fashioned. Here's the recipe: Ingredients: 1.75 oz. whiskey 2 spoonfuls of orange marmalade Dash of orange bitters 1 oz. sour mix Ice Belgium white ale Orange Directions: Place whiskey, orange marmalade, orange bitters and sour mix in a glass and shake over ice. Top with the Belgium white ale. Garnish with orange slice.
