VERONA (WKOW) -- The Verona Area Community Theater is excited to present “A Very Merry Hometown Christmas” show this year for the holiday season. Running one weekend only, the show opens at the Verona Area High School Performing Arts Center on December 3.
In this one-of-a-kind holiday variety show, VACT has been able to feature over 80 actors onstage, ranging from young children to retired individuals. “A Very Merry Hometown Christmas” show will feature over 35 Christmas songs – from the traditional to those with a more modern twist or appeal.
Some favorites include: “We Need a Little Christmas,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Silver Bells,” “Santa Baby,” “It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas,” “Carol of the Bells,” “O Holy Night,” “Here Comes Santa Claus,” “The Christmas Song,” and “Winter Wonderland.” With all songs featuring different actors, singers and dancers, the audience will get to preview talent from the entire cast. Additionally, audiences will enjoy preshow and intermission music from VACT’s group of carolers dressed in traditional clothing and participate in a sing-a-long at the end of the show.
Director Marsha Heuer appeared on Wake Up Wisconsin Tuesday with some of the cast members to perform, "Christmas Baby."
