Florida uses second half runs to defeat Badgers

MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) -- The women's basketball team struggle to string together a few wins continued on Thursday night against the Florida Gators, who used several second half runs to take a 91-75 victory on the road.

The Badgers (3-6) had a strong first quarter to lead the Gators (7-1) by 9. Although they railed by one heading into the break, the Badgers had their most points in a first half this season with 44 points at the half. UW shot 54.8 percent (17-31) from the field in the first half and 40 percent (4-10) from the 3-point line.

Florida then went on to out-shoot Wisconsin 48-31 in the second half. 

Wisconsin was led in scoring by two senior guards. Nicole Bauman hit the 900-point career mark in the loss, with a team-high 19 points and 5 rebounds. 

Dakota Whyte added 18 points of her own in the 16-point loss. 

Florida was led in scoring by freshman guard/forward Eleanna Christinaki with 21 points and 5 rebounds.
