MADISON (WKOW) --- The Dane County Humane Society's Four Lakes Wildlife Center is treating a female coyote that was picked up in rural Dane County in November.

Animal Service Officer Stodola picked up the female coyote from a barn in northeastern Dane County on November 20.

The coyote was in terrible shape, and they treated her believing she might not survive.  Her blood glucose was dangerously low and she suffered from a bad case of mange.

The Four Lakes Wildlife Center is happy she is now doing well and on her way to a full recovery.  She lost weight and a lot of her fur, but is now putting on weight and growing the fur coat back.   Once she is healthy, they plan to return her to the property they found her at.
