Gov. Walker orders flags at half-staff in honor of Endeavor firefighter

MADISON (WKOW) – Gov. Scott Walker has ordered all flags to fly at half-staff on Sunday in honor of the Endeavor firefighter who died after responding to an accident one week ago.

Authorities say a driver failed to move over on Interstate 39 near Endeavor and hit 56-year-old Larry Millard last Friday afternoon. Millard was flown to Divine Savior Hospital in Portage and UW Hospital in Madison, where he later died.

Gov. Walker issued an executive order on Friday, stating that all flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin will be flown at half-staff at all buildings, grounds, and military installations throughout the state between sunrise and sunset on Sunday, December 20th.

A funeral service will be held for Millard on Sunday at noon at Portage High School. Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. - noon Sunday, also at the high school.
