Badgers tour USS Theodore Roosevelt

Posted: Updated:

The Badgers had all hands on deck in their preparation for the Holiday Bowl. The team joined USC for a friendly tour of the USS Theodore Roosevelt. The players got a first-hand look at the aircraft carrier that is currently docked within sight of San Diego.

The players were amazed by what they saw but some of the sailors left smiling as well. In particular, Harry Rehm from Waukesha had a large grin. He was surprised by Badgers head coach Paul Chryst with a jersey and an announcement that Rehm would serve as an honorary captain for the Holiday Bowl.

"I thought I'd be standing up on the bridge over there watching everybody go by, serving them food, talk to everybody. I didn't think I would be up on stage over there, talking with everybody and getting a free jersey."

The Badgers faced USC in the Holiday Bowl at 9:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday.
