DODGEVILLE (WKOW) -- When a few people saw a need, they started a community meal that's grown over the months.
"Feeding Friends" is the organization in Dodgeville that serves a community meal every Wednesday evening from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. Dodgeville United Methodist Church hosts the meal. Recently, Plymouth United Church of Christ in Dodgeville started helping out, taking over the meal duties once a month.
Feeding Friends host Jeff Starr says it really is a community effort. What started as an idea to help children who were only getting two meals a day from school, has become a way to not only get them an extra meal, but also friends who are homeless and anyone else who needs a good meal and good conversation.
Anyone is invited to attend or help out. Starr says the meals draw people from all over Iowa County.
He, and two pastors from each church talked about "Feeding Friends" on Wake Up Wisconsin Tuesday morning. Click on the video to learn more.
