Trimble, Maryland defeat Wisconsin in thrilling fashion

MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) -- Ethan Happ had a double-double, Bronson Koenig knocked down the tying shot with 23 seconds left, but Melo Trimble found a way to take down the Badgers in Madison Saturday afternoon.

Tied up at 60, Trimble hit a long three-pointer with 1.3 seconds left on the clock and No. 3 Maryland (15-1, 4-0) left the Kohl Center with another win. 

Trimble finished with a game-high 21 points. Robert Carter Jr. added 14 points and 11 rebounds for Maryland.

Wisconsin (9-8, 1-3) never let Maryland get more than nine points ahead of them in a game that saw six lead changes. 

The Badgers were led by Nigel Hayes, who had 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting. Happ put up his sixth double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Wisconsin travels to Northwestern Tuesday night. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
