The Power of LaBahn: No. 2 Badgers on longest home win streak in program history

Posted: Updated:

MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) -- The LaBahn Arena has been very good to the Badgers, and the Badgers have been very good to LaBahn.

The No. 2 Wisconsin Badgers women's hockey team picked up their 16th consecutive win at their home arena with a sweep of conference rival Minnesota Duluth. The 16 wins is the longest streak in program history.

Their last loss at home was a 2-1 decision to St. Cloud State on February 20th, 2015.

"As time has gone on and our crowds have become consistent, and they have become big, "says head coach Mark Johnson," Certainly yesterday's crowd helps the players get excited to come on the ice, and the building is full, there is energy. You just feel good about yourself and general you probably play a little bit better. So that's probably the biggest reason we probably had success, just because of our support."
