MADISON (WKOW) -- The Mad Rollin' Dolls roller derby league is getting ready for a triple header this weekend, with part of the proceeds going to charity.
Two members of the league, "Hoppe Go Lucky" and "Donna Stunner" appeared on Wake Up Wisconsin Thursday to talk about the bouts. "We always donate part of our proceeds to a charity," says Hoppe. This weekend's games will benefit Sheltering Animals of Abuse Victims (SAAV).
The bouts begin at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, January 23 at the Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall. The first game is between the Mad Wreckin' Dolls and the Barbed Wire Betties of DeKalb, Illinois. The second game features the Quad Squad and the Vaudeville Vixens. Those teams are battling for the Leggy, Mad Rollin' Dolls' championship trophy. The third game pits the Reservoir Dolls against the Unholy Rollers.
Both Hoppe and Stunner are members of the Vaudeville Vixens. They say the bouts are always exciting to watch, but the entire evening is great, with halftime entertainment and an after party.
