MADISON (WKOW) -

The Big Ten Conference announced suspensions Monday for two Badgers men's hockey players. Aidan Cavallini and Eddie Wittchow will be forced to sit after receiving major penalties on Saturday against Minnesota.

Wittchow was disqualified from the game after delivering a hard blow to the head of a Minnesota player in the third period. Wittchow has now been suspended for three games. He'll miss this weekend's series against Alaska and Feb. 12 against Michigan.

Cavallini has been suspended for one game. He was penalized in the first period for hitting from behind and a game misconduct. Cavallini will have to sit out of Friday night's game against Alaska.
