REEDSBURG -- Each year, 4th grade students across the state get a special visit from the state's agricultural ambassador: Alice in Dairyland.
Teyanna Loether is the 68th Alice in Dairyland. She recently paid a visit to Pineview Elementary School in Reedsburg. Students named many of the foods grown or raised across Wisconsin.
Loether says, "Each and every time I give this presentation a new question surprises me as to where food is coming from, and how it's grown or made, and why is it so good for you."
Jeff Ladwig is a teacher at the school. He says, "The kids are still really absorbing a lot of this kind of information, and it's a perfect age, and Wisconsin's a great place to live, and I want them to know everything there is to know about Wisconsin, as much as they can absorb."
Alice in Dairyland is a one-year position. She visits hundreds of schools throughout her term while educating more than 10,000 students each year.
