MADISON, Wis. – Junior Sydney McKibbon scored twice while goaltender Ann-Renee Desbiens earned her 16th shutout of the year as the No. 2 Wisconsin women’s hockey team blanked Minnesota State, 4-0, on Saturday, in front of a sell-out crowd at LaBahn Arena.

·        A Wisconsin (29-1-1, 23-1-1-1 WCHA) win on Sunday in its 2 p.m. contest against Minnesota State (3-24-3, 0-22-3-0 WCHA) would give the Badgers their fifth WCHA regular season title and first since the 2011-12 season.

·        Desbiens is tied for second in NCAA history for shutouts in a single season after breaking the school record with her 15th shutout last Friday. The junior leads the NCAA this year in goals-against average with a 0.59 mark, save percentage with a .967 clip and wins with 27.

UW and Minnesota State wrap up their series on Sunday at 2 p.m. at LaBahn Arena. UW will honor its eight seniors prior to the game.
