SAUK PRAIRIE -- Agriculture instructor Troy Talford took his Sauk Prairie High School students on a field trip to a veterinary clinic to get a glimpse of what their future career could possibly look like.
Samuel Peetz is a high school senior. He says, "I'm interested in going into sort of the animal nutrition side of things, I've thought about becoming a veterinarian, but obviously this class is a good taste of what it takes."
Talford says, "Even if you're not going to be a veterinarian, you still have to have an appreciation of what their job does to enhance the dairy industry."
Over his tenure at Sauk Prairie High School, Talford has established working relationships with community leaders to help mentor students as well as researching what skill sets the community needs in order to help students prepare for the workforce.
