MADISON (WKOW) -- Continuing with the celebration of their 50th Anniversary Season, Children's Theater of Madison is preparing to present a musical adaptation of the beloved children’s bedtime book, "Goodnight Moon."
On Wednesday, Artistic Director Roseann Sheridan stopped by Wake Up Wisconsin to talk about their upcoming performances.
The production will run February 20 -28 at The Playhouse at Overture Center.
The musical stage adaptation, created by the acclaimed Seattle Children’s Theater in 2007, has been widely produced. The show is a perfect introduction to the experience of live theater for children ages 3-6. As part of CTM’s arts accessibility initiative, the 11:30am performance on Feb. 28th will be a sensory-friendly performance for families with youth on the autism spectrum.
“I love how (adaptor) Chad Henry has focused the story on Bunny’s imagination and the ritual of going to bed," said Sheridan. "The music and songs are fun, fresh and catchy. And there are lots of opportunities for audience participation, which is great for young children.”
Several special events accompany the production. Local celebrities, including Wake Up Wisconsin's Dani Maxwell will be reading The Runaway Bunny and Goodnight Moon prior to the performance on selected dates.
