Whyte's career night not enough to top Illinois

MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) -- Despite having a career night, Dakota Whyte's performance would be overshadowed by Illinois' hot shooting Wednesday night at the Kohl Center.

The senior guard put up 31 points on 11-of-20 shooting, hitting 5-of-11 from three point range. Fellow senior guard Nicole Bauman was the only other Badger to hit double digits in their 20-point loss, making 11 points on 4-of-14 shooting.

The Fighting Illini were led by Chatrice White with 28 points. Illinois (9-17, 2-13) shot over 54% from the field, 50% from out wide, and just over 72% from the line.

Wisconsin (7-18, 3-12 BT) will host their final home game of the regular season Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. against Northwestern.
