OMAHA, NE (KETV/CNN) - A driver lost control and crashed an SUV into an Omaha home early Tuesday morning.
The vehicle rammed into a boy's bedroom, just hours after he moved his bed across the room, a change that may have saved his life.
"Me and him kind of got in to a debate about it because he changes his room like every three days and I was like ‘quit changing your room around’ or whatever,” said Trend Titsworth, mom of Jeffrey Moore.
Hours after Jeffrey fell asleep, a driver came barreling down his street.
A neighbor's surveillance video caught the SUV tearing through a lawn, running over a street sign, right into Jeffrey's room.
"I heard a big ol' boom and then like, sizzling noises like, the whole car came in," he said.
Jeffrey came close to losing his life.
"Luckily I moved because if I was still there I would have been hurt or dead. God is a blessing because I'm still here," he said.
"Thankfully he did [move his bed], so it's a blessing that he's still here and he wasn't harmed," Titsworth said.
Even as the driver showed no remorse.
"He's like 'my car, my car' and I'm like, 'you almost killed my kid, what do you mean your car?’ The cops came right away and took him away," she said.
Police arrested the man on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Police have not released his name yet.
