Six area teams heading to Green Bay for State Basketball Tournament

MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) -- With the state tournament on the horizon, six area teams punched their tickets to the big showdown in Green Bay. 

In the Division 1 sectional final, Verona defeated Janesville Craig 63-45. Verona will face Appleton North next.

In the Division 2 sectional at Middleton High, Stoughton squeaked by Union Grove 35-34 to overtime. Stoughton will face Onalaska in the first round. 

In the Division 3 sectional in Sun Prairie, Madison Edgewood took down Prairie Du Chien 51-35. It's Edgewood's first trip to state. They will open their run with Hayward. 

In Division 4 sectional, Mineral Point defeated Wisconsin Heights 58-54.

In the Division 5 sectional at Richland Center High, two-time defending champs Barneveld beat Hillsboro 66-34. Barneveld will take on Clayton in the semifinal. 

Also in Division 5, Fall River is heading to state with a 59-22 win over Sheboygan Lutheran.
