10-year-old boy becomes a paid MLB player for a day

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The Louisville Cardinal Baseball team are asking a young boy from Southern Indiana and his buddies to join them to play some ball at Jim Patterson Stadium.

Landis Sims was born without hands and lower legs, but doesn't let it stop him.

He has been fitted with prosthetics, and baseball one of his favorite sports to play.

He recently joined the New York Yankees for the day in Tampa.

He signed a one day contract with the Yankees. He got take to batting practice and even got to spend some time with Alex Rodriguez.

Landis' story is so inspiring, even to the professionals, but it seems those players are more star struck than Landis is.

A-Rod tweeted about Landis and how great it was to spend time with him, calling him inspiring and courageous.

The Yankees Landis' favorite baseball team, and he even got to meet Derek Jeter two-years-ago.
