MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Former baseball player Pete Rose's bobblehead is being inducted into Milwaukee's National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.
The organization said Friday that Rose's bobblehead will be its first inductee. Co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar says Rose was picked for the inaugural induction ceremony after an online poll. A ceremony is being held April 23 at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee.
Some the organization's bobbleheads are on display at RedLine Milwaukee as part of a preview exhibit. The Journal Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1QLqJKB ) reports Sklar says he expects the Hall of Fame to open officially in a permanent location this fall.
Rose agreed to a lifetime ban from Major League Baseball in 1989 after an investigation found the career hits leader placed numerous bets on the Cincinnati Reds to win while playing for and managing the team. ------ Information from: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, http://www.jsonline.com
