CEDARBURG (WKOW) -- Since launching the Fuel Up to Play 60 Program, Wisconsin school participation has steadily increased.
Thorson Elementary School in Cedarburg was the grand-prize winner of the Fuel Up to Play 60 National "MVP School Contest." The kids got a visit from Green Bay Packers' Jared Abbrederis and Jeff Janis.
Janis says, "Fuel your body with the right things, because they're at an age where they're growing so much and you know they need a lot of nutrients to grow to their full potential."
Students like Emily Wrobbel encourage other kids to be active and eat foods that benefit their growing bodies. She says, "Some of the foods that I eat to stay healthy are fruits, and vegetables, and dairy products." Janis agrees! He says, "I love everything that has to do with dairy."
Thorson school district joined the Fuel Up to Play 60 Program two years ago. The one-minute video they submitted for the national contest was selected the Grand Prize winner out of nearly 300 entries.
