Houston, Hornibrook locked in QB battle heading into Saturday's spring game

MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) -- Wisconsin's spring game is only three days away and should draw a good crowd for their noon kickoff at Camp Randall Stadium.
The scrimmage is basically an audition for players fighting for a position, with the main part of quarterback up for grabs.

Only two scholarship quarterbacks are healthy heading into Saturday's game: senior Bart Houston and redshirt freshman Alex Hornibrook.
The only other option would be sophomore Bobby Dunn but the walk-on hasn't seen much time in the spring and likely won't on Saturday.

23016 recruit Kare' Lyles was an early enrollee but suffered an injury that has taken him completely out of spring training.

Houston has the biggest edge over the competition in both experience and age. Last season, Houston lead the Badgers to a victory over Illinois when starter Joel Stave went down with an injury.

The 6-foot-4, 232-pound senior has played in 15 career games and has completed 29 of 51 career pass attempts for 295 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.
