Letters sent to Columbia County court in support of Misty the dog

(WKOW) --- The Columbia County District Court has received 18 letters in response to the animal cruelty case in support of Misty the dog, according to wiscnews.com.  The letters coming from many cities, from Middleton to Johnson Creek.

All of the letters sent to the judge are requesting the maximum penalty for 56-year-old Terri Lynn Benson of Pardeeville who is facing a felony charge of mistreatment of an animal.

Misty, the black lab, was found in January by a group of hunters just north of Portage.  Misty was inside of a camping bagged and was severely injured.

Benson is due back in court on June 9.
