MADISON (WKOW) -- PurpleStride is the signature event of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is blazing new trails in the fight against pancreatic cancer. Join us for PurpleStride Madison and together we will continue to rewrite the book on how to fight this deadly disease.
Each year, in communities across the country, tens of thousands of people participate in more than fifty-six PurpleStride events, including PurpleStride Madison. These events are critical in raising awareness and funds that advance research and support patients and loved ones with a promise of a better tomorrow.
On Friday, Niketa Rae Miller stopped by Wake Up Wisconsin to talk about the event.
PurpleStride Madison 2016 is scheduled for May 7, 2016 at Warner Park. The 5K run and awareness walk is planned entirely by local volunteers.
"It's going to be a great day to come out and raise awareness and support friends and family,"said Miller.
The fun kicks off Saturday, May 7 at 9 a.m. with opening ceremonies, and the run/walk is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. Registration is still open for teams and individuals.
