MADISON (WKOW) -- After completing marathons in all 50 states to raise awareness about hunger concerns, a woman took on a new challenge.
Jess Kurtis is in the process of volunteering at all 200 Feeding America food pantries across the country.
She just visited the Wisconsin pantries. We caught up with her at Second Harvest Food Pantry of Southern Wisconsin in Madison.
She calls this task her Beast of Burden challenge. "I started the Beast of Burden challenge because I wanted to have a life of service over self. I really wanted to lead a purpose-filled life. And I wanted to show people how easy it is to get involved in ending hunger," says Kurtis.
She is also in the process of completing a second marathon in all 50 states. Kurtis hopes to have completed volunteering at all 200 Feeding America locations and her next set of marathons by this time next year.
