Briarpatch Youth Services to hold 5K "Flower Power" run to help raise money

MADISON (WKOW) --  Briarpatch Youth Services will host a 5K run this Sunday to help with its goal of raising more than $3 million dollars.

The youth homeless shelter is in the middle of its $3.1 million "Giving Homeless Youth a Chance" campaign. Sunday's Flower Power 5K run is at Henry Vilas Park. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m., and also includes a kids' fun run. You can learn more here.

"We have a very active running community in Madison," says Cedric Johnson, Development Director at Briarpatch. "This event is another opportunity to support runaway and homeless youth in a very visible and impactful way."

So far, more than $1.5 million has been raised through the campaign.
