MIDDLETON (WKOW) -- Middleton Players Theatre will present Jesus Christ Superstar as the first production of its 2016 season.
On Tuesday, Matt Starika-Jolivet, Co-Director stopped by Wake Up Wisconsin to talk about the show.
This breathtaking Tony Award winning musical will be playing for two performances on May 28-29 at the Middleton Performing Arts Center, 2100 Bristol St. in Middleton.
Chaz Ingraham, Jenny Marsland, Dan Jajewski, and Thomas Kasdorf also performed Tuesday on the show.
Jesus Christ Superstar is a 1970 rock opera with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. Christ's final days are dramatized with emotional intensity, thought-provoking edge and explosive theatricality. Propelled by a stirring score, the show illuminates the transcendent power of the human spirit with a passion that goes straight to the heart.
The creative team includes Matt Starika-Jolivet (co-director) and Thomas J. Kasdorf (co-director, musical director and conductor), Sharon White (costume designer), Alissa Krantz (production stage manager) and Sara Bartlett (choreographer).
Reserved tickets are $25/adults, $20/seniors and $15/students and can be purchased online or at the door 60 minutes before each performance.
Middleton Players Theatre was founded in 1990 and has produced over thirty shows in its 26-year history. Mainstage shows are produced at the acclaimed Middleton Performing Arts Center, while other smaller concerts and cabarets have been performed around the greater Madison area.
