CAMBRIDGE (WKOW) -- The Lakeside Lutheran boys and girls track and field teams topped the rest of the competition at the Capitol Conference meet on Tuesday night. The Columbus boys team finished 2nd, while the Lodi girls finished 2nd.
Lakeside Lutheran's Meghan Pingel won the 100 meter hurdles, finishing in 15.03 seconds. JT Parish anchored the Cambridge 4x200 meter relay, a group that won finishing in 1:33.35. Cambridge's Sydney Currie won the 1600 meter run finishing in 5:11.38. Currie also won the 400. Next year she will join the University of Wisconsin track and field team, and Currie believes her versatility will only help her on the track.
"I think it's definitely an advantage going into college being able to race many different races. I'm able to run the 400, 800, and I can also run the mile and two mile because I think that will give them a big advantage," Currie said.
