OCONTO FALLS (WKOW) -- Springside Cheese in Oconto Falls has been making cheddar cheese for years, but now they're also making a Polish-style cheese.
Nathan Hintz of Springside Cheese says they named the cheese "Krakow" because his father started working in the Krakow Cheese Factory in Krakow, Wisconsin.
Hintz says, "It's a soft cheese, very creamy, buttery, and has similar characteristics of a German butterkase." He says it's a good "melting" cheese.
Springside Cheese only makes one batch of Krakow a week and has a limited supply. The cheese is currently available at the company store and a few other regional cheese shops, but can be ordered online on the website.
