JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Janesville Police say there'll soon be more resources to combat drug use in locally and in Rock County.
Officer Chad Woodman says in a news release today that his department and members of the Rock County Rx Drug Abuse and Heroin Task Force met yesterday to discuss new ways to advocate for families affected by opioid abuse and possible strategies for treatment options.
Their goals include:
Creating a social media page and website to provide contact information for people facing the epidemic.
Printing reference materials to increase awareness of services already offered in the area and placing those materials in hospitals, law enforcement agencies and treatment facilities.
Finding temporary sponsors who are available to help with the treatment process for drug users.
Starting an advocacy group to support families in crisis.
The Rock County RX Drug Abuse and Heroin Task Force is also looking for volunteers to assist with the program. Call Officer Woodman at (608) 314-7019, or email him at email@example.com for more information.
