JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- The Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin is hosting its largest adoption event right now where all fees are waived for cats and kittens.
The event runs from June 2 - June 5 at the shelter (222 South Arch Street in Janesville) and every cat up for adoption is free. The shelter opens at noon for these special adoptions. You're encouraged to bring a carrier, says spokesperson Rachel Patterson.
Patterson says one of the cats up for adoption is 3-year-old Siamese mix Scharlene, who had an infection that caused her some litter box problems in the past. But once the shelter figured out what was wrong, Scharlene has been a pro in the bathroom department! Patterson says she was be a good fit for just about any family and would even fit into a home with cat-friendly dogs.
If you'd like to meet Scharlene or visit any of the other cats at the shelter, you can learn more at this website.
