SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- Upcycling projects and refurbishing furniture are still big right now as more people decide to make it a hobby or their living.

Andrea Schneeberger and Kendall Brunker co-own Brass Tacks Consignment & Resale in Sun Prairie. They not only re-purpose items, but also teach people how to do certain things themselves.

Andrea brought some of that knowledge to Wake Up Wisconsin viewers Tuesday morning, with a milk paint demonstration. She gave some tips to news anchor Dani Maxwell and WKOW viewers.

Brass Tacks offers a Paint Night class the third Wednesday of each month from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The next class if June 15th. For more information about the class or store events, click on this link. The store is located at 3120 Edmonton Drive in Sun Prairie.

Brass Tacks has also staged a home that's for sale completely with refurbished furniture and other re-purposed items. There is a Home Event so people can see the items and purchase them from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12th. The home is at 805 Dandaneau Trail in Madison.
