MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Per Brewers) -- Ryan Braun remains fifth among National League outfielders in the second All-Star balloting update, which was announced today.
A six-time All-Star, he is batting .335 (59-for-176) with 10 doubles, 9 HR and 33 RBI in 47 games this season. Braun ranks among the National League leaders in batting average (2nd), OPS (3rd, .949), slugging percentage (8th, .545) and on-base percentage (9th, .403).
Last night vs. Oakland, he collected his 1,500th career hit to become the fifth player in franchise history to reach the mark, joining Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, Cecil Cooper and Jim Gantner.
First baseman Chris Carter ranks among the National League leaders in HR (T3rd, 16), extra-base hits (T5th, 29) and RBI (7th, 39).
Catcher Jonathan Lucroy is batting .316 (ninth-best in the National League) with 9 HR and 28 RBI in 54 games.
Shortstop Jonathan Villar (.301, 5hr, 25rbi) has reached base safely in 50 of his 56 games this season. He is among the National League leaders in stolen bases (1st, 21 - leads MLB), walks (T7th, 34), on-base percentage (10th, .399) and doubles (T10th, 15).
