MADISON (WKOW) -- If you love music, Madison is the place to be next week.
Make Music Madison is a festival happening Tuesday, June 21 all over the city. It's planned for the first day of summer around the lakes, in parks and neighborhoods. The idea is for everyone to enjoy and make music, visit neighborhoods they don't usually get to and sample different kids of music. This year, organizers will have more than 340 live, free performances all over town. That includes 1,000 musicians, making Madison's event the second largest in the country.
There are venues for families with kids; at Henry Vilas Zoo, Orton Park Camp and the Madison Children's Museum. There are also church venues, lakeside venues and senior living community venues. To learn more about the locations and bands, click here.
