Madison West soccer team advances to title game in shootout

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -

The Madison West girls soccer team advanced to the state championship game in dramatic fashion. They edged Eau Claire Memorial in a shootout in the WIAA Division 1 semifinals. 

The two squads played to a 1-1 tie in regulation. Anali Osorio notched the equalizer for Madison West to force overtime. After a couple of scoreless overtime periods, the match moved to a shootout. The Regents made all five attempts. Giselle Monette made one save. That proved to be the difference for Madison West.

 The Regents improve to 14-6-3. Madison West will play for their sixth state title on Saturday at 5:05 p.m.
