SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- At the end of July, several boys from Sun Prairie will be headed on a trip to Florida. There won't much time spent on the beach because they have business to take care of at the bowling alley. The Sun Prairie boys bowling team is coming off back-to-back state championships, but starting July 30 it will compete in the inaugural High School Bowling National Championships in Fort Lauderdale. Sun Prairie will be one of around 20 teams from around the country competing for the title and the only one from Wisconsin.
"You're representing Wisconsin, you're representing Madison, you're representing Sun Prairie. We are excited about going. It's a great team, this is an incredible team. They have been for the last couple years and I'm looking forward to this trip," Sun Prairie boys bowling head coach John Breunig said.
"It is a cool deal to be a part of and we have some high quality players. I think we can go out and win this thing, so it should be pretty interesting to see what happens," Sun Prairie bowler Tyler Sheehy said.
