Eau Claire (WKOW) -

The Badgers men's hockey team has landed one of the top in-state prospects. Ty Emberson from Eau Claire verbally committed to play for the Badgers. He currently plans to enroll at Wisconsin in time for the 2018-19 season.

"Coach Eaves and Coach Strand are both great coaches. So, I was really impressed with them, but during the transition, I kind of took a step back and realized, is this what I really want to do, and I said, yeah, I like Wisconsin, so I took a step back and waited to see who they brought in, and I was really impressed.  I think I really liked what kind of players they like. They like hard-working and humble players, and I think that's kind of what I am. They like kids who want to be there, they want to work hard every day, and that's really what I liked about them."

Emberson is a 6'1" defenseman. He notched 33 points for Eau Claire Memorial High School this past season. Emberson plans to play for the U.S. National Team Development Program for two years before enrolling in college.
