MADISON (WKOW) -- Since its inception, more than 2,000 Wisconsin AIDS Ride participants and volunteers have raised more than $3.3 million for HIV prevention, care and treatment services in Wisconsin.
On Thursday, riders embarked on the four day event, which they hope raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for the AIDS Network.
These funds are critical in ensuring everyone with HIV has access to the health care and medications they need to keep or regain their health, and make sure individuals at-risk for HIV get access to HIV testing, education and materials that will help them stay HIV-negative.
This year, riders will be staging at Horicon High School.
