ALMA CENTER (WKOW) -- This month will be a busy one at Blue Moo Lake in Alma Center for the National and World Waterskiing Championships. It's a great way to show off America's Dairyland.
It's happening at a cornfield on Blake Heller's dairy farm. Cody Heller is a Barefoot Waterski Champion. He says, "We take for granted the beauty of the area, and it will be really interesting to get people from around the world here to see this and experience it firsthand."
There will be about 110 skiers at the national event and 150 at the World Championships.
Elaine Heller Fatla is the 2010 Women's Overall World Champion and will serve as coach of the US Junior Barefoot Water Ski Team, while Cody Heller will ski on the US Elite Barefoot Water Ski Team. Contests run from 7:30 in the morning to 5:00 in the evening. Both days of finals start at 5pm and go until midnight! You can learn more here.
