A Fresh Start for Blue Devils in 2016

Posted: Updated:
LODI (WKOW) -

It's not easy to make it to a state title game in high school football, and it's just as hard to shake off losing one, but that's exactly what the Blue Devils from Lodi need to do heading into this season.

What you may not know, Lodi will never forget. That being a 28-0 loss to Osceola last season in the D-4 WIAA state championship game.

"I like to tell myself that I've coped with it, but it's one of those things where it's over and it's got me motivated for this year." Said senior lineman Noah Dube.

Lodi will return five starts from a year ago. Two on offense and three on defense, leaving some holes to fill for this season.

"It's going to be a heck of a challenge." Said head coach Dave Puls, entering his 13th season. "The kids that are coming in, trying to get starting positions are really going to have to step up."

The Blue Devils will hit the road to start the season. Opening at Delavan-Darien on Friday August 19.
