BBQ for Books connects children with literacy through mouth-watering food

Posted: Updated:

MADISON (WKOW) --It sounds mouth-watering and smart. The Madison Reading Project is benefiting from a delicious and musical fundraiser called BBQ For Books.

Anyone who gets dinner at Double S BBQ on Monroe Street from 5:00 - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 10th will be helping toward the cause, because the barbecue restaurant will donate proceeds from eat-in and take-out orders to the Madison Reading Project and their book giving programs. Other attractions that night include a pop-up bookstore with "Mystery To Me" and live country music featuring Thirsty Jones and Josh Harty.

The Madison Reading Project provides books to vulnerable children in southwest Wisconsin. The small non-profit hopes to raise $4,000 with this party and help connect children with literacy.
