Badgers Need to Fill Holes in the Secondary

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -

With just three week until their season opening game with LSU, the Badgers continue to piece together their team on both sides of the ball. With a new Defensive Coordinator, the Badgers have holes in their secondary they need to fill after graduating three from last season's top ranked team.

The Badgers were one of the top ranked defenses in the country last season, and look to continue that this year, but that will require younger players to step up and have an impact in 2016.

"Obviously, if we make it pressure, it will be pressure." Said junior safety D' Cota Dixon. "If we just come out and play like we have been practicing for however many months it's been I think we'll be just fine."

The Badgers do have a senior working his way into the starting secondary in Leo Musso. He hasn't seen the field much, but learned from the guys before him.

"We learned under some great guys. Mike and Tanner were great players, but we have guys that have experience that are eager and young and are ready to get after it." Said Musso.

The Badgers will start two practices a day on Saturday. Their season opener is September 3, against LSU at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
