Fall Camp Scrimmage Gives Coaches Status Update

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -

Seven days and seven practices for the Badger football team and finally a taste of game day with their first fall camp scrimmage at Camp Randall on Monday. Several NFL scouts were on hand to watch the scrimmage.

Running back Corey Clement was one of the only non-injured expected starters that did not play in the scrimmage.

Senior quarterback Bart Houston started under center with most of the starters and was followed by Alex Hornibrook with the second string.

"Obviously we ran a lot of plays against each other. When one side is having success, the other side isn't.  You got to grow." Said head coach Paul Chryst.

The scrimmage was the only form of practice for the Badgers on Monday. They will return to their two-a-day schedule on Tuesday.

"We got to spend a ton of time on the details and the little things that make a difference. It's a big week for us, I thought today was a good start, but a long ways to go."  Said Chryst.
